It was at a particularly important moment in the history of Lucille, Piero and Lacor Hospital that the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation granted them its first support. In 1995, when Lucille's health had already deteriorated considerably due to the HIV infection contracted during operations on civil war casualties, honors for Lucille were multiplying. The Teasdale-Corti Foundation was established in September of that year. Since its inception, the Teasdale-Corti Foundation and Lacor Hospital have been able to count on the invaluable support of the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation (FMJC), which became one of the first donors with a contribution of $100,000.
This initial support marks the beginning of a commitment that will continue over the years to support the Hospital's mission in a sustainable and sustained manner. The FMJC has made it possible for the Teasdale-Corti Foundation to build its influence with St. Mary's Lacor Hospital. In turn, the Hospital has been able to improve its results and impact year-after-year thanks to the economic support and valuable interaction provided by the FMJC.
This symbiosis has been strengthened since November 2024, following the first visit to the Lacor Hospital by Marie-Josée Coutu, President of the FMJC. For the occasion, she is accompanied by Michel Nadeau, volunteer, Bineta Ba, Director of Partnerships and International Development at the FMJC, and Johanne Guay, Assistant to the President.
