Welcome to our brand-new bulletin!

In 2024, the Teasdale-Corti Foundation undertook a review of its practices to maximize the funds transferred to St. Mary's Lacor Hospital, Uganda. Part of this effort is to optimize support resources, so that more of your donations contribute directly to the hospital's mission.

Foundation 2.0

To mark its 30th anniversary (officially on September 11, 2025), the Teasdale-Corti Foundation has reviewed its operations. The board of directors has included itself in this review. Clear mandates, with well-defined responsibilities, are at the heart of the Foundation's reform—Foundation 2.0. The board of directors has established profiles for its seven directors to ensure the smooth running of the Foundation's strategic planning, performance evaluation and other functions.

The Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation: an impact partner!

It was at a particularly important moment in the history of Lucille, Piero and Lacor Hospital that the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation granted them its first support. In 1995, when Lucille's health had already deteriorated considerably due to the HIV infection contracted during operations on civil war casualties, honors for Lucille were multiplying. The Teasdale-Corti Foundation was established in September of that year. Since its inception, the Teasdale-Corti Foundation and Lacor Hospital have been able to count on the invaluable support of the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation (FMJC), which became one of the first donors with a contribution of $100,000.

Projects we fund with the Marcelle et Jean Coutu Foundation contributions

Using the contributions pursuant to funding agreements with the Marcelle and Jean Coutu Foundation (FMJC), the Teasdale Corti Foundation supports several initiatives of St. Mary's Lacor Hospital. The projects to which the FMJC contributes can be summarized in three components, as illustrated below.

The Foundation funds other projects using other donor funds. Sometimes it contributes to the same projects that are primarily funded using FMJC contributions.

Between the past and the future: memories of Lucille

August 1st will mark the 30th anniversary of my mother's death. It was in 1996, in the midst of the guerilla war. Every evening, up to 15,000 people sought refuge on the grounds of Lacor Hospital to escape the raids by rebels of the Lord’s Resistance Army, who were looting and killing with impunity.
